Function: Supply Management / Logistics

Title: Strategic Supply Management Specialist - 74100

Your Responsibilities

As a Strategic Supply Management Specialist for John Deere Construction & Forestry located in Dubuque, IA, you will l ead and/or support a Strategic Sourcing team with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, meeting Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP) and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process requirements/goals on product cost, and schedule and quality for the Earthmoving Production System. In the Enterprise Product Delivery Process, you will play a key role in integrating suppliers early in the process to optimize design and cost. In addition, you will:

  • Build and develop a supply base for procuring complex and strategic materials, products, supplies and services.

  • Coordinate and lead efforts to address chronic supplier performance issues.

  • Work closely with product line engineering on new part development ensuring early supplier integration and Strategic Sourcing alignment

  • Manage cost using Enterprise tools and engaging Cost Management as appropriate to meet or beat established program targets

  • Be responsible for procurement of parts in support of mule builds, durability builds, and production launches

  • Collaborate with Procurement team to ensure seamless part transition into production environment

  • Serve as integration lead and/or team lead on EPDP program(s) with responsibility for managing timelines, monitoring progress, and holding team accountable for program deliverables

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of Supply Management, Design or Quality Engineering experience

  • Data analytics skills using tools such as Excel, Tableau and Power Bi

  • Experience with negotiations and/or supplier cost gap resolution

  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to influence without authority across functional areas

  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience working in SAP/PDM Link in CI or EPDP program development

  • Project management experience involving multiple functional areas

  • Experience developing or managing contracts, particularly development agreements and/or statements of work

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Management, Business/Management or Engineering
