[[JOB DESCRIPTION[[: [[The interventionist will help students develop proficient reading and math skills that will contribute to academic growth. An interventionist will address the specific needs of children when regular classroom instruction is not sufficient. They will work collaboratively with teachers to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child. Interventionists may provide small group or whole group interventions, and may be asked to help in classrooms that are below 60% proficient.

Adheres to Board policies, district procedures, and contractual obligations

Consults frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to reading and math instruction using formative and summative assessments as a base.

Design interventions and write lesson plans detailing methods and materials.

Assist teachers and other administrators in implementing the school reading and math curriculum.

Help teachers determine reading and math strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials.

Keep the parents informed of reading and/or math progress.
