RN - Corporate Health

FTE: 1.0 (Full-time, 40 hours per week)

SHIFT: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm; Friday 8am - 4:30pm

  • Assists physician and other health care providers with direct patient care.

  • Prepares patients and assists physician with minor surgical procedures.

  • Takes vitals, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.

  • Performs venipuncture to obtain lab specimens.

  • Maintains inventory of supplies, sterilizes instruments, and equipment.

  • Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed.

  • May complete lab tests, spirometry, vision, ECG and audio tests within the scope of credentials. Must maintain Certified Professional Collector status.

  • Performs procedures and treatments commensurate with proficiency testing including but not limited to catheterization, ear lavage, and injections.

  • Assists with appointment scheduling and message taking as needed.

  • Ensures that patient charge tickets are completed accurately.

  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality/follow HIPAA guidelines.

  • Participates in unit operations demonstrating professional behaviors to include supporting goals of the department and maintain awareness of resource utilization on the shift.

  • Provides education to community groups as directed by manager

  • Completes Occupational Health Manager data as applicable to procedures performed

  • Participates actively in orientation of new staff.

  • Performs Evidential Breath Testing.

  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance at work.

  • Coordinates services with referral agencies to ensure consistency of service provision to employers and patients.

  • Provides clinical support to physician as needed.

  • Provides clinical support to physician for complex cases requiring case management, for example, contacting doctors and other health care providers to coordinate services.

  • Works cooperatively with referral agencies in coordinating services to ensure optimal consistency of service provisions to employers and other purchasers of services.

  • Provides pre-employment medical/physicals, including hearing and vision screening, and health and fitness advice.

  • Facilitates injured workers returning to duty.

  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with all outside agencies and external customers by communicating in an efficient, professional and courteous manner. .

  • Promotes awareness of the Occupational Health program within the community. ..

  • Demonstrates positive customer skills.

  • Maintains compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines.

  • Maintains compliance with Human Resource policies and procedures.

  • Behaves in a manner consistent with all policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates positive customer relation skills.

  • Must have successfully completed and passed required educational classes.

  • Adheres to hospital and department dress codes.


Nursing Degree


Iowa Registered Nurse


2 – 5 years nursing experience preferred.


Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain good interpersonal relationships, adapt to change, evaluate critically and think creatively. Must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively, ability to be comfortable with public speaking and educate individuals or groups utilizing principles of adult learning. Must demonstrate effective communication skills.
