General Atomics and Affiliated Companies Customer Service Representative in Fort Madison, Iowa

General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies.

Candidate must commute to Ft. Madison, IA facility several times per week, so should reside in the vicinity.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for inside sales and customer support activities including, but not limited to, processing orders, price and delivery quotes, stock availability, and expediting account collections through telephone, internet, and correspondence from customers and representatives. Must have knowledge of company products and customer service processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides order status and pricing information to customers.

  • Maintains database records of customer profiles.

  • Maintains status reports.

  • Expedites orders at customer request.

  • May participate in marketing and sales activities such as travel and customer development.

  • Provide customer service support after hours during winter months (rotating schedule.)

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • May perform shipping and receiving duties as required.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent along with two or more years related experience in sales or customer service with a basic understanding of office procedures, data compilation and record maintenance.

  • Must have good knowledge of computer operations and applications.

  • Must be customer focused and possess:

  • Ability to identify and analyze issues;

  • Organization skills to maintain flow of work;

  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal employees and external customers; and,

  • Ability to use judgment in handling customer inquiries and tact and diplomacy in resolving customer problems. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
