Green Hills AEA is recruiting for an English Language Learner Teacher (Virtual) for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is a full time position for a 190 day contract. Applicant must be eligible for Iowa licensing through the Board of Educational Examiners.

Starting salary will be approximately $47,503 for recent graduates, and increased for each year of experience in an educational setting for all others, for a 190 day contract. The English Language Learner Teacher (Virtual) shall d

esign and deliver direct English language development instruction to K-12 ELs in multiple districts, based on district need. Delivery of instruction will be virtual, based on demand for services and the needs of students to be served.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Design and present educational material in an online format, both synchronous and asynchronous delivery, with a possibility of some in-person instruction (to be discussed in advance with supervisor) Prepare lesson plans in accordance with students' learning needs Tailor lessons to accommodate differences in learning style and speed Evaluate student progress and communicate with stakeholders (classroom teachers, administrators, parents) Support required LIEP parent communication (required forms, parent notification) Coordinate with district staff responsible for completing language proficiency state assessments. Be knowledgeable and respectful of cultural differences, as well as support districts and classroom teachers in cultural understandings. Develop an EL plan for each student Assist students with their technical difficulties or connect the student with appropriate tech supports Communicate regularly with parents, students, and certified content area teachers through use of computer and telephone Collaborate with school leaders to determine appropriate placement and scheduling. Work with school leaders and counselors to ensure students and families are receiving appropriate communications, students are making adequate progress and established goals are being met Consult with other teachers and staff learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities, modifications to students programs to increase student understanding, and determining appropriate accommodations for assessments (such as ELPA21, ISASP, and as documented in IEPs) Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules, student needs, demands for services Develop a general knowledge of the school programs K-12 curriculum
