    SUMMARY

    This job requires the understanding and assembly of cord reels, power reels, and hose reels including subassembly for each group to perform a variety of duties to do quality work from engineering blueprints, pack slips with written or verbal instructions to meet stock and sales orders for shipment. Assembly for compliance with company guidelines by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

    Required to work with cable counter, resistance welder, drill press, pop rivet gun, power and hand tools, do hand assembly and repair parts. The use of heat guns, wire strippers, and anvil press are required. Use of various measuring instruments such as tape measure, dial calipers, continuity, and high pot tester. You must follow established procedures, have a general knowledge of tools and know-how to identify parts.

    Required to do hand assembly, read a tape measure, dial calipers, and weight count scale. Work with machines, power, and hand tools to produce, assemble, and repair parts. Must follow established procedures, have general knowledge and know to identify standard and metric hardware sizes. Must know how to use hand tools and be able to relate end wrench and socket sizes to bolt diameters.

    Must keep the equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Maintain necessary records and daily/monthly maintenance required on power tools and equipment. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to your supervisor.

    Perform visual as well as physical inspection of the product, raw material, and purchased material to ensure quality work. Duties involve selecting parts and materials with proper identification and location in accordance of engineering blueprint and/or pack slips. Must involve accurate counting and identification of the material or parts to or from designated areas or work cells in a careful manner to prevent damage and injury.     Examining and having a thorough knowledge of engineering blueprint before a product or part can be made. Required to take responsibility to make a final inspection of the first completed part or product made to ensure total quality before continuance of production run. Responsible for proper stacking of finished product with insuring proper identification, labeling, and stock or ship location. Responsible for restocking baskets, bins, etc., daily. Responsible for letting your supervisor know when parts are getting low in stock. Exercise care to prevent injury to yourself, fellow employees, equipment, and material.

    Responsible for reporting accurate time on time cards. Responsible for reporting initial/in-process inspections on work order process/inspection sheets. Responsible for reporting final inspection on work order process/inspections sheets or pack slip. Perform other related duties as required or directed.

    Willing to work on updating and maintaining 5S systems within the department.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
