Job Description

Job Summary: This position will provide a broad range of HR support in of business objectives, strategic goals, and initiatives for the Holstein facility. They will manage the administration of policies, procedures and programs with an emphasis on employee relations and compliance.

Major Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action

  • Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions

  • Acts as an employee relations specialist

  • Facilitates processing of litigation, unemployment hearings, workers compensation claims/hearings, EEOC and FLSA.

  • Assists in development of education programs.

  • Works on various employee relations projects.

  • Maintains current knowledge of and ensures that Human Resources Department complies with Company’s policies and procedures and state and federal laws.

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration of policies covering workers compensation claims

  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Administers COBRA for group health plans.

  • Support and help managers drive process improvement initiatives by obtaining employee engagement and buy in

  • Support and properly apply HR policies and practices

  • Assist employees with questions regarding pay, benefits, handbook, policies and procedures, and other HR related matters

  • Investigate and ensure fair resolution of issues in accordance with VT policies and practices

  • Provide full service HR support to an assigned client group

  • Formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization

  • Actively involved with recommending and implementing projects which could include employee engagement, recruiting, organization development, compensation, and training and development

  • Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications, interviews).

  • Assist in onboarding of new hires

  • Other duties as assigned

    Job Requirements

    Requirements / Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field, or 5-7 years of related work experience

  • Four years of employee relations experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Team player mentality

  • Ability to multi task and work in fast paced environment

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience working with a HRIS is preferred

  • Excellent communication and follow up skills

  • Bilingual skill set in Spanish is preferred
