MidWestOne Bank Compliance Auditor in Iowa City, Iowa

Responsible for performing assigned internal compliance audits of diverse business activities, documenting work according to established standards, identifying and effectively developing audit findings and recommendations, and maintaining effective working relationships with personnel. Also responsible for managing the consumer complaint function and associated workflows, which includes root cause analysis and recommendations where necessary to help avoid future issues.Conducts audits to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, based on the bankis risk assessment, and according to the approved compliance audit schedule.Prepares drafts of audit findings, including recommendations, for review with the VP Senior Compliance Audit Officer and Auditees.Participates in the review and evaluation of management responses to audit findings, opinions and recommendations.Manages the bankis consumer complaint function, ensuring timely review and proper documentation, with escalations to management when regulatory risk is heightened. iAttends and actively participates in Compliance Committee; assists with meeting preparation and documentation.Ensures monthly, quarterly and special reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner as requested by the VP Senior Compliance Audit Officer.Assists in the administration of departmental computer technology systems, tools and programs.Provides regulatory guidance as necessary during compliance audit exercises and in various project or product development groups.Stays abreast of changes to federal and state banking laws and regulations; maintains knowledge of bank services, policies and procedures and provides updates to appropriate departments.iPursues professional development to refine auditing and compliance knowledge to prepare for more diverse and complex compliance audits.Performs other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of post high school education and related work experience.Previous bank compliance audit or related banking experience preferredKnowledge and understanding of consumer protection laws, regulations and compliance industry issuesWilling to obtain and maintain regulatory compliance and/or audit professional certifications (CRCM, CIA)
