Sport Camp InstructorPosting ID116174DepartmentRecreational Services/Student LifeJobcodeTemp Professional EmployeeWorking TitleSport Camp InstructorDetailsPOSITION SUMMARY:The Division of Student Life; Recreational Services is seeking a Sport Camp Instructor to assist with the daily operations of the Hustling Hawkeyes Summer Camps Program at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center and Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.Duties to include:Arrive at shift punctually and leave when replacement arrives or check-out is complete.Instruct sport-based activities for daily groups participating in camps as well as other recreational activities for the entire camp.Assist Supervisor with managing the care and safety of the campers.Self-motivated, energetic and willingness to be flexible in duties and interactions with students.Maintain a positive attitude at all times.Focus on working as a team with other instructors, supervisors and any other camp staff.Effectively communicate when meeting with campers, parent/guardians, co-workers, and Supervisors.POSITION BASICS:Hourly Rate/Range:$10.00WORK SCHEDULE:Hours:20-40 hours/weekShift:Primarily 1st shift; 8 am - 5 pmWork Week:Monday - FridayAdditional Hours:May work occasional overtime to cover absences and peak periods of operatioBACKGROUND CHECK:Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.BUILDING A CAREER AND A LIFE AT IOWA:At the University of Iowa, we recognize the important relationship between productive careers and quality personal lives.
