Prelude Behavioral Services Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist in Iowa City, Iowa

$500 Sign On Bonus!iPrelude Behavioral Services is seeking a full-time Prevention Specialist to join our team in Iowa City. This team member will have the opportunity to have a direct impact on our community by developing and implementing education programming and services related to substance abuse prevention.iThe Prevention Specialist:Assesses, develops, and implements education/prevention curricula.Networks with schools, organizations, community groups, and agencies in the surrounding counties in accordance with agency goals.Assists with the coordination of local, state and national substance abuse prevention campaigns.Responds to requests for information regarding substance abuse prevention.Maintains accurate and timely records of services delivered and program evaluations.RequirementsBacheloris degree in public health, training, education or related area and two years of related experience is required. Candidate must already have or be willing to obtain the Certified Prevention Specialist credential within 18 months of employment. Familiarity with issues related to substance abuse prevention and community programming desired. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communications skills including public speaking, presentations, teaching/training, and writing.This position requires a valid driver's license and candidates will be required to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen at a later point in the recruiting process.Salary and BenefitsCandidateis pay will be commensurate with experience, certification and education.
