RN/LPN Shared Nurse - Homecare and Inpatient

Provide nursing services to children within their home as well as inpatient services. Provide full flexibility in working where the organization has the greatest need. Work within the framework of physicians’ orders, care team guidelines, family instruction, individualized care plans, professional and regulatory guidelines, and ChildServe policies and procedures.

What you'll Do

  • Deliver care as the sole provider of a full range of nursing services that include administration of medications, feedings, and treatments within scope of practice; daily care needs; ongoing assessments; therapy exercises and respiratory regimens as ordered.

  • Order and renew medications and supplies.

  • Deliver nursing care with an interdisciplinary team.

  • Provide oversight of care delivered by LPNs and paraprofessionals (RN's only).

  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and family to ensure health and safety needs are addressed.

  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely records.

  • Receive, transcribe and implement physicians’ orders in a timely manner.

  • Complete monthly medication records.

  • Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with children, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.

  • Establish and maintain positive professional relationships and meet confidentiality standards.

  • Provide training and orientation to new team members as needed.

  • Demonstrate proficient nursing skills as necessary for providing nursing cares to clients alone in clients’ homes.

What You'll Need

  • Current valid license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa

  • Current AHA CPR certification and will obtain BLS within 90 days of hire.

  • 3 Years relevant nursing experience required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

  • Flexible availability to meet the needs of Homecare and Inpatient services.
