Johnston Community School District Substitute Food Transport Driver in Johnston, Iowa
POSITION SUMMARY: To safely and efficiently transport food and other nutrition department items to designated transport schools and sites to assure highest food quality possible.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to lift heavy loads not to exceed 50 lbs
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Valid Iowa commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
Possess good collaborative and interpersonal skills
Successful completion of a criminal background check and physical capacity profile test will be required upon offer.

Professional Performance Criteria
Operates transport truck in manner that insures safety of food, equipment, personnel, and students
Loads and unloads all items being sent to transport schools quickly and in a sanitary manner
Correctly stores food items in storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers
Maintains clean interior of transport truck
Makes pick up and deliveries inside and outside the school district as requested by supervisor
Reports all non-working equipment to appropriate supervisor
Performs general maintenance of transport truck on weekly basis. This includes fueling and checking oil, tires, lights, and other safety equipment.
Duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor may vary from time to time
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Substitutes are called and used on an “as needed basis” with no guarantee of hours or days.
