Work hours will extend beyond eight hour days, at times, to ensure deadlines are adhered to and business needs are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform accounting, reporting, planning and budgeting while assisting with the development of methodologies and process cost accounting and service based revenues.

  • Implement and continually improve internal controls processes, policies and procedures including investigating deviations in projections.

  • Ensures financial reporting systems produce accurate and reliable results that support business operations, including but not limited to census, productivity, etc.

  • Report writing and the ability to serve as the Subject Matter Expert that will train new and existing team members, including leadership, as needed.

  • Oversee banking relationships including Administration of electronic user rights.

  • Cognos financial system administration which includes updating accounts and cost center structure.

  • Gather, approve and report 990 tax returns, Property and Liability Insurance renewals, entry fee amortization, entry fee refunds.

  • Monitor and maintain property plant and equipment, construction in progress, and depreciation schedules.

  • End of the month responsibilities such as closing of financial records, preparation of related journal entries and supervising cash and electronic disbursements and corresponding tax withholding liabilities.

  • Collaborate with leaders and team members to identify operation improvement opportunities including supporting leaders with budgeting and forecasting as well as external and state auditors, as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors in Finance, Accounting or Business; advanced certification is a plus.

  • 3-7 years financial accounting and planning, with previous business leadership experience highly desired.

  • Proven experience effectively communicating information while providing accurate financial analysis and timely operational reports.

  • Understanding of cost accounting, nonprofit accounting, GAAP principles and financial report writing and system administration.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word

  • Experience in senior living is preferable, including proven ability to build effective relationships across business lines.

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in an always evolving industry.

  • Solution oriented, driven to meet goals while produce positive results through collaborative efforts with team members and leaders.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; prior experience effectively presenting complex finance concepts to executive leaders is highly desired.
