DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Provide support to Lenox Production facility by monitoring, moving, rotating trailers and/or tankers within theMichael Foods Lenox, IA location per production needs. This is done while ensuring the safety of pedestrians and company property. Receive instructions from Transportation Supervisor and/or Department Leads.This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety and Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Allocates and spots all trailers and/or tankers for unloading and loading.Coordinates getting trailers to the CASA Lenox, IA shop area for preventative maintenance and repairs.Must verify that all trailers are washed properly and clean for loading.Must weigh all inbound and outbound tankers using scale onsite.Responsible for verifying that the trailer reefer unit temperatures are set to the correct temperature.Must routinely check reefer temperatures on loaded trailers.Responsible for securing trailer doors.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.Adheres to quality work practices, follows GMP's, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.Able to work overtime and holidays when needed.Ensures regulatory compliance at all times.EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.Must possess valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver License) in your state of residence, as required by FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), with a tanker endorsement.Minimum age is 21 years oldMeet all requirements outlined in the CASA Trucking Driver Safety HandbookMust be able to safely spot, move, and back trailers while ensuring that no damage is done to equipment or other property.Must be aware of surroundings including pedestrians.Must have required knowledge of operating a refrigerated reefer unit.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Computer experience helpful.PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.Ability to perform these operations using units weight measurement, volume, and distance.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variablesAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
