Henry County Health Center Patient Access Clerk (Float) in Mount Pleasant, Iowa

To enhance hospital services through the effective and efficient registration of all patients by obtaining complete and accurate demographic and financial information in or to provide quality patient services while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

  • Greets Public.

  • Register patients for services.

  • Verify all components for clean admission (insurance, signatures, phone number, address etc.).

  • Processes pre-registration documents.

  • Reconciles and adjusts daily census.

  • Arranges for proper bed assignment according to patient type and diagnosis and secures transportation services for the patient.

  • Communicates errors and problems to appropriate associate for correction.

Abilities: None required prefer prior medical/office experience. Minimal lifting. Answering phones. Basic computer knowledge. Good Typing skills. Attention to detail and accuracy.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Annual Requirements, licensure and certifications: Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent written/oral communication skills. Ability to interact and communicate with public and co-workers. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic typing and data entry skills.
