Systems Analyst


The primary responsibilities of this role, Systems Analyst, are to:

  • Develop relationships within site Business Units and act as the primary contact within IT Department and Business Units for support, maintenance and problem management of systems within his/her area of responsibility;

  • Participate in cross-functional teams responsible for implementing business objectives using new or existing systems;

  • Understand and document processes as well as act as project manager during the design, development (of end user tools), cost, testing, implementation, training as well as communication of new systems and processes;

  • Ensure systems and solutions meet business requirements;

  • Develop Capital Requests for new systems within his/her area of responsibility;

  • Develop and lead lifecycle management strategies for systems in his/her area of responsibility;

  • Analyze systemic issues regarding software, system processes within his/her area of responsibility and recommendation of both short term and long-term solutions which may include technical development of solutions;

  • Manage all system upgrades within his/her area including design, development, data mapping, integration analysis, scripting, testing, implementation, training and communication;

  • Provide documentation, quality assurance and ensure adequate internal controls related to systems and processes within his/her area of responsibility;

  • Create and support ad hoc queries and reports using tools available within the ERP systems;

  • Provide timely and permanent resolutions of systemic matters in his/her area of responsibility;

  • Work with Systems Analysts in other areas to develop overall technology roadmap and capital budget to meet site and business requirements;

  • Investigate and evaluate new systems, solutions and processes to meet future business needs;

  • Support development and improvement through participation on site and corporate initiatives and committees (includes Six Sigma / LEAN)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field with at least six years of relevant experience;

  • Knowledge of RDBMS including Oracle and SQL;

  • Microsoft Visual Studio / .NET programming;

  • Knowledge or experience in some form of software programming (C, C#, VB, Java, etc.);

  • Experience in managing small-to-medium IT based manufacturing projects;

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills;

  • Knowledge of process optimization principles;

  • Strong written and oral communication skills;

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and form strong networks and relationships;

  • Ability to work well within a culture that values diversity;

  • Willingness to actively pursue learning and self-development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Writing and optimizing PL/SQL and SQL queries or stored procedures/packages;

  • Experience with Siemens SIMATIC IT manufacturing Execution System;

  • Experience creating Microsoft SharePoint based solutions;

  • Experience with Spotfire or Tableau;

  • SAP knowledge in production, maintenance or quality management functions;

  • Experience working with Intelex, Trackwise or other Quality Management Systems (QMS);

  • Experience with Aspen IP 21 Data Historian;

  • Working knowledge of middleware solutions and data warehousing;

  • Experience developing or configuring workflow enabled applications;

  • Background in manufacturing environment;

  • Working knowledge of ISA-95 manufacturing models.
