HORMEL FOODS SALES, LLC Burke - Grindroom Laborer/Sanitation (2nd Shift) in NEVADA, Iowa

Starting pay: $17.19/Hr. Shift Differential + $0.60/Hr.for 2nd ShiftHours: This position will train on 2nd shift in Plant 1 from 4:00PMto 2:00AMuntil Plant 2 is ready. Once moved to Plant 2, this job will perform the Grindroom job for approximately 5 to 6 hours and then will be responsible for tear down and clean up in Grindroom and other Sanitation duties as assigned until the end of the shift. This will be a full-time Grindroom position once both shifts for Line 4 are operating in the new plant. Then hours will be 2:00PM- Midnight.All team members must abide by all of Burke's plant safety rules!Requirements of team member include:Ability to learn and perform multiple positions (training will be provided)Work in temperatures 32-50 degrees in Grindroom and 100+ degrees during sanitation part of jobBeing able to operate a pallet jack (in-house training provided)Must be able to work around and with spicesMust possess good communication skillsAbility to work in an environment that is moderately to highly strenuousBeing able to lift up to 50 lbs frequentlyAbility to do a repetitive taskStanding, walking, scrubbing, climbing ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving on hands and kneesWill handle high-pressure hoses for long periods of time; climb in and under equipment to cleanMust be able to work with different types of chemicalsOperating food processing equipmentFill in for other plant positions as necessary (additional pay provided for higher pay grade position)Basic Math skillsThe individual is required to contribute to harmony in the workplaceQualifications: 18 years of age or older and 6 months of work history is requiredGrindroom Team MemberPerforming the following tasks in the grind roomSupplying meat to the grind room from the meat receiving cooler using a pallet jack and transports raw meat to the grinderInspects meatGrind meatRemoves pallets and trash from the grind roomOperates a metal detector belt and augerSanitation Team MemberPerforming the following tasks throughout the plantso Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production areas, including equipment, machinery, walls, floors and ceilingso Cleans up excess meat on floor by using squeegee or shovelo hoses down equipment and machinery with hot water hoseso applies foam to all surfaces in production areas; scrubs equipment and machinery; rinses foam from equipment and machinery; applies sanitizer and oil/air mixture to all surfaceso reads and understands chemical warningso vacuums office area; mops floor of laboratory and break room; cleans receiving dock; cleans restrooms and restocks bathroom supplieso disassembles equipment for cleaning purposes; reassembles equipment.Burke Corporation is a leader in the production of pizza toppings and other fully cooked meats.
