Position DescriptionUnder general supervision, prepares and cooks hot foods for patients, employees, visitors, community outpatient services and special functions, working from established recipes and menu cycles.i Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Incorporates basic food preparation skills utilizing standardized quantified recipes to assure retention of nutritive values, palatability, and appetizing appearance of food served to clientsReviews menus and production sheets to determine type and quantities of assigned items to be preparediPlans cooking so food is ready at the designated timePortions foods attractively and accurately as specified in recipe and/or menuMaintains work area in a neat, clean, and orderly manner in accordance with departmental standardsAssists in the distribution and set-up of patient/resident trays as assignediThis position will have hours from 10:00am - 6:30pm and will require some weekends.iPosition RequirementsHigh school education or equivalent desirable, but must be able to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructionsiPrevious experience with food methods of preparation, preferably in a healthcare facilityiAbility to plan work in order to meet established deadlinesBy applying for this position, I acknowledge the following statements:I acknowledge and understand that all employees of Story County Medical Center are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.I acknowledge and understand that Story County Medical Center is a tobacco-free worksite and that I will not be permitted to use tobacco or tobacco-like products as defined in the Story County Medical Center's Tobacco Free Worksite policy.Story County Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
