L.L. Pelling Company, Inc. Truck Driver Class B in North Liberty, Iowa
LL Pelling is looking for local Class B CDL truck drivers to haul asphalt and rock utilizing a dump truck. This is a seasonal position that typically works from April to November each year. Drivers may work days or nights, depending on the project, and more than 50 hours each week. LL Pelling is one of Eastern Iowa's premier paving contractors specializing in asphalt paving and production.
Responsibilities
Perform daily pre/post trip inspections.
Operate a dump truck or flowboy into construction job sites, rock quarries, and asphalt plants.
Load and unload materials which may include asphalt, rock, and millings.
Tarp loads using a hand crank.
Scrape and clean the end of the box from asphalt.
Keep truck in clean and orderly condition.
Qualifications and Skills
Class B commercial driver's license with insurable driving record
Airbrake endorsement
Current medical card
Regular, dependable attendance
Able to work in all outside weather conditions
Able to work overtime: 50+ hours per week
Able to work overnight shift and weekends as necessary
Able to frequently climb in and out of truck to tarp loads and manually clean box of asphalt
Able to use hands to safety operate a dump truck, hand crank, and hand tools
Able to sit for extended periods of time
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
