Actalent Quality Assurance Tech II in NORWALK, Iowa

Actalent is seeking Quality Assurance Technicians to join the team of a food manufacturing company in Norwalk!

Quality Assurance Technician II:

  • Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm

  • $18/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure HACCP plans are up to date, validated, and documents are filled out properly.

  • Products follow all CCP’s according to pertinent HACCP plans.

  • Any non-compliance is reported to management immediately and corrective actions identified, implemented and documented in a timely manner.

  • SOPs and GMPs are followed, reviewed annually, and up to date.

  • Product is staged properly, identified appropriately, and according to production needs.

  • Environmental Monitoring Program is followed and properly documented.

  • Weekly and monthly environmental testing and swabs, such as quarterly validation and listeria samples, are taken and reported on.

  • Data is organized, trended, and reported to aid in continuous improvement.

  • All shipping and final product labels meet regulatory compliance.

  • Complaints are documented, trended, and reported in a timely manner.

  • Re-train production personnel as needed and respond to the customer when appropriate.

  • Equipment is kept calibrated and records are up to date (scales, probes, and thermometers).

Skills:

  • Quality Assurance/Control, GMP, HACCP, and food safety

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Quality Management, and/or related field.

  • 1 or more years in broad manufacturing operations or Quality Assurance experience.

Additional Skills:

  • Apply technical knowledge, analyze problems and calculate risks for decisions that produce high-quality results.

  • Ability to manage pressure of deadlines, urgent pace, multiple priorities/projects and financial performance expectations.

  • Effectively utilize MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, etc.), ERP and/or other reporting and analysis tools.

  • Mitigate risk and facilitate healthy corporate culture through appropriate and compliant conduct and development of self and others.
