Athletics Marketing and Fan Experience Graduate Assistant

Northwestern College is seeking applicants for the graduate assistant position of athletics marketing and fan experience beginning July 1. The graduate assistant will foster innovative and collaborative programming that engages students, staff, alumni and all supporters of Red Raider athletics. The successful candidate will help design and implement a comprehensive strategic athletic marketing plan that enhances student section engagement, ticket sales, local community involvement, and digital and graphic media content for the department. This position will report to the vice president of athletics and work collaboratively with the director of athletic communications and associate athletic director for facilities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and develop a strategic marketing plan to increase fan attendance, fan engagement and student section involvement at Red Raider home athletic events.

  • Develop a comprehensive game day plan that includes, but is not limited to, halftime activities, community promotion partners, alumni honorees, fan-of-the-game recognition, cheer and dance coordination, pep band coordination, and student section themes.

  • Work collaboratively with SALT (Student-Athlete Leadership Team) to develop and promote a supportive culture of Red Raider athletics.

  • Develop digital media content and graphics to enhance the brand of Red Raider athletics and recognize the Stand Out athletic programs, student-athletes and coaches at Northwestern.

  • Serve on the end-of-year awards show committee and create video and graphic content for the show.

  • Coordinate music that creates elite game day atmospheres and represents the mission of Northwestern College.

  • Work collaboratively with VP for athletics on special events (Homecoming, N-Dubs award show, NAIA championship events, Hall of Fame ceremony, etc.).

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sport management or other sport related field.

  • Experience with coordinating and implementing athletic programming events.

  • Must be enrolled and on track to successfully complete a master’s degree in an accredited program.

This is a 2- to 3- year position determined by the program of study, with an 11-month (July-May) commitment. Compensation includes an 11-month stipend and housing with an on-campus meal plan.
