Indian Hills Community College Coordinator, IT Operations in Ottumwa, Iowa

Job Summary:

This person will be responsible for the oversight of the IT Operations team in the areas of server administration and network infrastructure. Provide backup support to PC/network technicians for the installation, maintenance and support for instruction and administrative equipment. Provide guidance and scheduling for IT Operations team. This person will also be responsible for computer hardware and software purchases, network administration, and installation for instruction and administration. Coordination and supervision of technicians for PC and networking side.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a computer related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • A combination of at least 5 years education and experience in computer/network support.

  • Must have experience with computer hardware and software installation, maintenance and user support and Microsoft servers.

  • Experience with Cisco equipment, NetApp SAN, VmWare, and MCSE certification is desirable.

  • High degree of competency with computers and servers.

  • A good understanding of several P.C. application packages is desirable.

  • Must be willing to learn new technologies.

  • Must possess a high level of oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to work effectively with users at all competency levels.

Work Performed:

  • Coordinate day to day activity of IT Operations team members

  • Facilitate IT Cybersecurity Taskforce meetings and projects

  • Maintain IHCC data networks, physical plant, virtualization environment, and servers.

  • Responsible for identity services maintenance and support.

  • Coordinate and manage software currency and licensing.

  • Support and coordinate E-mail system.

  • Management of IP phones, PBX, and analog lines.

  • Management of wireless network infrastructure.

  • Act as escalation point for complex technical problems within the IT department.

  • Facilitate cross-training and knowledge sharing among IT staff.

  • Furnish high level of customer service for computer hardware and software support to staff.

  • Maintenance and coordination of electronic security devices including cameras and door systems.

  • Establish, monitor and periodically test backup procedures.

  • Formally evaluate IT Operations staff in your area.

  • Assist in the hiring process IT Operations staff.

  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.

  • Other duties as assigned.

4 Term, Full Time, Benefits

Schedule:

9 hrs/day, Monday-Thursday

Salary Range:

$51,630.00 - 57,385.00
