Keurig Dr Pepper Machine Operator, Best Practice Relief in Ottumwa, Iowa

Job Overview

The Machine Best Practice Relief Operator is responsible for operating assigned stations and all other associated work including basic preventative maintenance, changeovers, making minor adjustments to maintain greatest operational efficiency, assist other mechanics, etc.

Shift and Schedule:

This full time position will be based at our Ottumwa IA facility and will support our 3rd shift, working Monday - Friday from 10:30pm - 7:00am CST.

Additional flexibility for overtime according to changing business needs, including weekends and/or holidays, is required as scheduled.

Compensation:

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.88/hour. Post-training pay includes shift differential as well as base pay increases scheduled at $.50/hour approximately every 6 months, along with annual increases according to union contract negotiations. Benefits are available after 90 days through collective agreement.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands entire line operation and offers assistance where necessary

  • Maintains the lines with supplies needed for production

  • Supports mechanics with electrical/mechanical breakdowns

  • Supports other operators on PM, adjustment and repair procedures, and changeovers of line equipment for different products and/or sizes

  • Ability to operate all equipment on the line

  • Assists the training of new operators

  • Performs monthly safety inspections

  • Provides breaks to operators

  • Plan and carry out line improvement projects

  • Operate a forklift as required

  • Highly motivated in supporting a safe, efficient, and successful workplace

  • 5s and Total Productive Maintenance activities

  • Perform cleaning activities on equipment as required

  • Ability to work in a team environment and serve as a role model

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of operating production machinery and monitoring product quality is required

  • Previous experience with mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and line changeovers highly preferred

  • Previous experience operating a variety of machines in a manufacturing envrionment is highly preferred

  • Ability to speak and comprehend a working knowledge of the English language is required for the safe and effective performance of this job

  • Previous experience using touch-screen computer systems is preferred

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly is required

  • Ability to walk and stand throughout the entirety of the shift is required

  • Flexibility to train and/or work beyond the standard hours of the assigned schedule according to changing business needs, including potential overtime, off-days, and/or holidays, is required as scheduled.
