1 - First Shift

The Tooling Scheduler Group Leader supports the Tooling Manager in leading all aspects of the assigned team by facilitating communication concerning training, planning, direct work or special assignments. This position ensures on-time delivery by troubleshooting and solving issues as they arise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Demonstrate the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors.

  2. Encourages team members to be customer focused when moving product to next stage in the value stream.

  3. Demonstrates a passion for continuous improvement by applying lean principles to support the team and helping complete follow-up items from kaizen events.

  4. Trains team members on safe work practices and enforces safety rules and procedures.

  5. Provides project time estimation on work orders.

  6. Prioritizes incoming work-order workflow, conducts frequent team surveys to determine project status, roadblocks, available capacity, and risks for potentially not meeting project’s due dates. Keeps due dates updated and assigns work orders. As a result of the survey, produces action item list.

  7. Creates, maintains, and publishes team’s reports and production schedules.

  8. Communicates with stakeholders to respond scheduling questions.

  9. Identifies opportunities to optimize labor utilization.

    Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)/high school equivalency test (HiSET), or higher.

  • Minimum two to three years Production Scheduling experience.

    Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to lead others in alignment with the Vermeer characteristics and behaviors.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems or troubleshoot issues.

  • Demonstrated understanding of performance measurements including, but not limited to, safety, quality, fulfillment, cost, and inventory.

  • Understanding of lean principles.

  • Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.

-- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with individuals at all levels of the organization.

-- Ability to work under pressure on tight deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize, and help sourcing assignments to meet deadlines.

--Ability to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.

-Ability to operate a WIDOWS based computer and MS Office suite.

  • Familiarity with machine tool, job shop operation.
