Van Gorp Corporation Western Regional Sales Manager - Mining, Quarries & Aggregates (Sand & Gravel) in Pella, Iowa
- This position is responsible for the sale of the organization's products in a specified region or major geographical area and provides ongoing support to all product distribution channels to maintain and expand the customer base.
Regional Sales Manager Job Duties:
Works directly with current and potential OEMs, Integrators & Bulk Material Handling End Users to build and maintain rapport; identifying new customer opportunities.
Works directly with Engineering Firms, Integrators & Manufacturers to specify Van Gorp product for projects and original equipment manufacturing.
Attends Regional and National Trade Shows in related and relevant industries to promote Van Gorp products and services.
Achieves regional sales revenue objectives by contributing regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining regional sales system improvements; implementing change.
Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances.
Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for districts in support of national objectives.
Maintains and expands installed customer base to drive demand for products direct from Van Gorp and through distribution channels.
Performs site surveys of mining operations, sand & gravel pits, quarries and cement plants to recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; identifies consumer needs and trends; tracks competitive intelligence and pricing.
Implements trade promotions by publishing, tracking, and evaluating trade spending.
Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently travel outside the local area and overnight.
Required Education and Experience:
At least three years of field sales experience, preferably in mining operations or bulk material handling industries.
Experience in sand and gravel pits, surface mining, underground mining, or selling to conveyor OEMs a plus.
Experience driving specifications with Engineering Firms a plus.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
