Overall Job Function: The scale attendant is primarily responsible for overall scale operations and helping to maintain an effective office environment, all while striving to meet the demands of the employees and customers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Weighing scale traffic (grain, fertilizer, livestock, etc.) and keeps accurate records

  • Scanning invoices and sales tickets

  • Handles faxes, emails and phone calls

  • Record keeping for grain and other areas as needed

  • Assist at counter when needed and greets all visitors to the office

  • Maintains office and work area in a neat and professional manner

  • Participates in special projects when needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED

Work Environment

This position is based in a fast paced office setting. Equipment utilized will be computer, phone, fax, copy machine and other standard office equipment.

Typical office hours are Monday to Friday 730 to 5, extended hours and Saturday’s during peak seasons. Position will occasionally work outside; exposed to elements, loud noise and agricultural equipment.

Physical Demands

While performing job functions the employee will be required to talk and hear most of the time. The employee will spend frequent intervals moving and sitting, while also needing to reach, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, stoop or kneel on occasion. The employee will need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and 15 pounds frequently. The physicality of this job is low.
