Title: Drivetrain Control System Engineer - 50371

Your Responsibilities

As a Drivetrain Control System Engineer, for the John Deere Product Engineering Center (Waterloo), you will collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineers, Systems Engineers and Software Teams to design control logic and algorithms for tractors. In addition, you will:

  • Design electro-mechanical or electro-hydraulic control algorithms and architectures

  • Prioritize and guide the implementation of these algorithms

  • Resolve complex technical challenges related to drivetrain control systems

  • Support advanced diagnostic initiatives

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in control simulation, model-based software development (MBSD), or software development in C, C++ programming languages

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability and experience working in a self-directed mode

  • Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Embedded software development experience

  • Experience using MATLAB and Simulink

  • Experience with CAN communications protocol and the J1939/ISO11783 standards

  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems in an automotive or agricultural setting

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelors of Science degree in an Engineering or relevant discipline
