The Accountant is responsible for general accounting and internal control including journal entry preparation, intercompany, month-end closing activities, account reconciliation, and reporting. In addition, this position has key financial analysis and project related responsibilities.
Month-end closing responsibilities ensuring accurate financial results are reported timely per Corporate closing calendar. This position is ultimately responsible for coordination and execution of month-end closing.
Accounting activities including period maintenance, create/post journal entries, intercompany, F/X, IC aging analysis, checks issued analysis/reporting, and payroll analysis/reporting.
Checklist owner: Monthly Closing, Account Reconciliation, Journal Entries, and HFM.
Complete monthly general ledger account and bank reconciliations along with resolving open items.
Intercompany accounting and reconciliation support: A/R, A/P, IC Loan Statement.
HFM: uploads, roll-forwards, supplemental schedules, budget, forecast, cash forecast.
Financial analysis across all areas of AR, AP, and GL to identify trends and potential financial reporting issues.
Cash Forecasting - owner of GBS cash forecasting process.
Audit coordination and main contact for internal and external audit teams.
Reporting: Balance Sheet, P&L, Operating Analysis, Balance Sheet Flux, Tax Trial Balance, Audit Requests, 10Q/10K, Corporate requests, Metrics, Government requests.
Backup role for supplier, customer, and account maintenance.
Assist in procedure development and recommend/implement process improvements.
Customer service: provide timely responses to internal and external inquiries.
Responsible for ensuring procedures are documented and internal controls in place.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in accounting.
Special projects to improve processes and expand the role of GBS General Accounting.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3 - 5+ years of progressive accounting and some internal control experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of GAAP
Problem solving and resolution.
C.P.A. and/or M.B.A. strongly preferred.
Proficient in Oracle.
