Job Summary: This role includes SSRS and Tableau reporting development responsibilities and is primarily responsible for data management and operational reporting development within the eODS and Data Warehouse environment of myNEXUS. This candidate must have experience in Tableau development, and have strong SQL experience to query, maintain, and create reports across SSRS, SSAS, and other SQL related tools. The ideal candidate is creative, self-sufficient and resourceful. They must have the ability to quickly learn both the technology and business concepts, and experience in working with both business and IT teams. This role is essential to the overall Data Analytics strategy of myNEXUS and will be responsible for owning the analytical approach to enterprise reporting, data and Tableau development, automation, instrumentation, and tooling to accelerate and evolve our data analytics capabilities. Duties/Responsibilities: • Analyze conditions and identify strategies that minimize implementation risk and/or improve system reliability and performance • Manage code and documentation within online repository and use agile tools to track and manage work progress (Azure DevOPs) • Participate in peer technical reviews and business brainstorming sessions • Provide mentoring and coaching to fellow developers in technology, architecture and delivery of applications • Build strong business relationships to support reporting and data needs • Compile data into stored procedures and views to be utilized in reports • Profile data for completeness, correctness, and accuracy before use • Understand data lineage and database architecture to identify mapping and translation errors • Think analytically to understand complex business events for data sourcing and reporting • Translate between business needs and data to develop meaningful reports • Update and maintain report repository • Develop visualizations in Tableau that effectively provide tools to make business decisions while considering user experience and Tableau best practices • Support existing reporting to account for new data, structural changes, or business enhancement request • Advise data team for database architecture and table configurations to meet the data and reporting needs of the business • Provide efficiency and sustainability suggestions to processes such as requirements gathering, report development, data development, and data quality • Review existing logic and queries and improve/streamline logic for best performance Professional Responsibilities: • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean • Completes annual education requirements • Maintains confidentiality of employee, company and/or patient information at all times • Reports to work on time and from breaks as scheduled, completes work within designated time • Follows all company policies related to time records and time off policies • Completes in-services in a timely fashion • Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled • Attends staff meetings as scheduled and reads all staff meeting minutes and other written documents as requested • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices • Communicates and demonstrates the mission, ethics and goals of the Company, as well as the department Required Skills/Abilities: • Experience with healthcare data/managed care preferred • Proficient in Tableau development, including the ability to add enhancements to an existing workbook • Approaches use of data with a critical eye to profile for completeness, correctness, and accuracy • Attention to detail to maintain reports and supplemental documentation • Participate in team lunch and learns, design sessions, and pattern/code reviews • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience with BI tools such as Microsoft BI, SSRS, & Tableau • Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities are required • Creates a shared sense of direction and community among the teams • Time management skills are a must; as well as the ability to be flexible and creative • Possesses the cultural attributes of the organization and understands how to work in a small fast paced environment. • Demonstrable Software Development experience • Understanding of cloud-based database platforms and the configuration and use of the environment. • Knowledge of database architecture and design • Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents. • Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines. • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, additional languages preferred • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from providers, patients or family members Education and Experience: • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Data Sciences or equivalent job experience o Experience in Tableau and SSRS development and report writing is required with experience generating advanced visuals and dashboarding o 3+ years’ experience in developing in Tableau, SSRS, and other BI solutions o 3+ years’ experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012/2014 solutions and reporting o Advanced understanding of Relational and Dimensional data structures and use o Negotiation and persuasion skills; ability to facilitate consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders o Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices o Review the designs, code, and test plans of other engineers and developers o Strong listening skills; ability to capture requirements expressed in design meetings o Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding new technologies o Highly self-motivated and directed o Experience with Agile development (SAFE or other)
