Athene Business Systems Analyst III in West Des Moines, Iowa

Purpose:
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will elicit, analyze, and document business and technical needs of projects. Projects will involve several departments with scope of medium to large complexity, vitality, risk, and technical and regulatory sophistication. Be the lead for most of the analysis efforts of assigned projects; coordinate the work of other business system analysts. Be a liaison, facilitating and communicating among several business and IT partners. You will report directly to the Manager of Software Development.
Accountabilities:
Support medium to large projects involving and risk encompassing multiple departments.
Facilitate interviews with business and technology departments, to coordinate comprehensive needs and potential interdependencies.
Partner with Product Owners to identify requirements for system and process enhancements.
Gather user requirements and acceptance criteria from partners and translate them to user stories for the development teams to work from.
Analyze business problems and make recommendations for creative solutions.
Facilitate, prioritizes, and proposes business process re-designs to improve process results.
Embrace change and provide encouragement to guide others through change, handle conflict.
Foster relationships across multiple business and technology areas.
Increase awareness of best practices to improve business capabilities.
Proficient at right-sizing the message to the audience.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
4+ years of Business System Analysis experience and working within an Agile framework.
Proficient in business analysis concepts (business process modeling (BPM), context diagrams, use cases, user stories). Use resource tools to manage project resource demand.
Proficiency with techniques used in requirements elicitation, project scoping, requirements analysis, and project planning and analysis activities.
Proficient in Project Management and SDLC processes; solid grasp of Agile/iterative approaches, specifically Scrum and Kanban.
BABOK certification preferred.
