The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. The * Business Development & Engagement Director* will be responsible for directing and managing the broader Acquisition Adoption and Migration Group Business planning efforts. Business planning responsibilities include: facilitating and coordinating development of the strategic plan, researching and monitoring emerging issues and key strategic topics, organizing and managing the strategic objectives of the broader team and ensuring advancement of strategic initiatives through the enterprise/division planning process. Will also be responsible in leading special projects for the group until level of maturity to transition to appropriate business group. Business development responsibilities include: directing the business development efforts and analysis of key strategies and providing technical and strategic expertise and oversight to the business development efforts across the organization.

  • The Role:*

  • Lead strategic planning, and set and advocate for internal and external goals.

  • Define, track, and communicate metrics around new initiatives, comparing to previous outcomes.

  • Manage strategic planning team daily and lead organization-wide strategy meetings.

  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities and generate plans to address each.

  • Develop, analyze, and communicate business models to guide business decisions, promoting data-driven strategic change.

  • Establish the vision and mission for the strategic planning function and ensure that staff is aware of and supports this vision, and that the projects are aligned with the business objectives.

  • Create, articulate, and obtain buy-in for vision to align business strategy with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Lead and direct development of goals and strategies for strategic planning and business development.

  • Coordinate executive involvement in meetings and interactions with the executive leadership of members and potential members.

  • Negotiate agreements with customers/stakeholders to meet business objectives.

  • Champion planned changes, leverage relationships to socialize the changes and act as a role model for/early adopter of the change to demonstrate importance and address perceived impact.

  • Design approach strategies to grow and develop growth opportunities.

  • Identify and analyze costs/benefits of available options to support decision making and meet business expectations.

  • Evaluate current and future business needs; set vision and provide direction to align processes and standards with current and emerging business, technology, risk and compliance requirements to meet business expectations.

  • Utilize industry knowledge to understand and anticipate customer/stakeholder needs and market trends; craft communications to address their needs.

  • Analyze customer/stakeholder financial information to better understand their needs and to anticipate impacts.

May be open to other Wells Fargo Hub Locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of strategic planning experience

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
