Supply Chain Analyst

As a Supply Chain Analyst you will work with the Assistant Director, Supply Chain Analytics on analysis projects that drive improved performance and cost-effective decisions within Hy-Vee’s supply chain. Your goal is to optimize the overall supply chain organization efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with supply chain leadership to perform cost and performance analysis for warehouse operations
Provide the warehousing team with timely analytics and fact-based evaluations to make tactical decisions
Manage projects that require significant research and communication with supply chain leaders
Perform extensive ad-hoc data analysis in Excel (Advanced Excel functions, Pivot Tables, VBA, Solver, PowerQuery)
Use Excel to retrieve sales data from data warehouses (Distribution Sales Data, Point Of Sale Data)
Utilize SQL to retrieve data from supply chain systems (Item Master, Replenishment, WMS, TMS, YMS)
Complete supply chain network optimization and capacity studies
Oversee analysis projects from start to finish, collecting data and information from subject matter experts and turning it into actionable conclusions
Communicate analysis results in a clear and concise format to an executive audience, including visual representations of data
Serve in a project management role for supply chain initiatives
Conduct research into industry best practices to support process analysis and efficiency
Deliver complete and accurate work within stated deadlines
Report to work when scheduled and on time
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
Attends company meetings
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree; focus in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics or Computer Science is preferred.
Strong mathematics, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
Past experience in distribution and supply chain preferred.
Strong background in Excel is necessary.
Experience in SQL and other programming languages is helpful.
This position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently to see a project through from start to finish.
Must be highly organized with a strong sense of urgency in executing responsibilities and flexible when business needs require immediate changes to priorities.
Experience in project management is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction.
Must be physically able to perform light work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 20 pounds, and frequent standing or walking.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND WORKER CHARACTERISTICS
Proven ability to take a concept, utilize an array of resources, and bring it to full expression.
Must have the ability to perform logical or scientific thinking to solve problems with several abstract and concrete variables.
Strong Excel background required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and interact with other people in a friendly, professional manner
